Flowmaster 10 Review

Well it's been a week since I swapped from my Borla Stingers (which i'll have up for sale soon) to some flowmaster 10's. Took off my busted mac prochamber as well and left it divorced. Before i give my outlook on the 10s i'll give some back story to my exhausts on my 3.9L v6.

setups from buying the car to now

-jdm canister muffler
-straight pipe single
-straight piped duals
-mac prochamber with straight pipes sent out the side
-mac prochamber with flowmaster 44s dumped
-mac prochamber with flowmaster 40s dumped then out the back
-mac prochamber with thrush welded mufflers dumped after rear axle
-mac prochamber with thrush turbo mufflers out the back
-mac prochamber with borla stingers out the back
-borla stingers no mid pipe out the back

and now flowmaster 10s no midpipe with 3.5" tips out the back. future plans will be to swap the 4 cats to 2 high flow cats with 200 cell per inch internals.

now all that being said i have to say this is my current new favorite sound on a stock cam v6. Has a very throaty tone that doesn't get a racey note when in WOT like the stingers did. that being said the stingers sounded amazing for those wanting a more sports car sound vs american muscle (at that time i loved that sporty sound). The 10's went in no problem for the exhaust shop and the build quality is solid. once they fully break in soon i'll be adding an exhaust clip to the thread. Idle so far sounds great with a nice warble note even on the even firing sixxer. I'm excited to see how the idle sounds with the cat change.

I'm also considering an h pipe when i do the cat change to try something new for me.

Anyone else running 10s or have in the past?

I had an 04 gt lol. I sold it for another v6. The GT was to slow in the corners for me. My v6 will out perform it all day long.

well i had an 04 v6 which i totaled after spending so much money on its suspension lol. (thanks mother natures and hydroplaning) so then i bought an 04 GT. swapped as much over to the GT as i could then bought more on top of that. it was way too sluggish though on autox tracks and mountain passes. it was fun on the drag track though and the tq was a nice upgrade over the sixxer. Well i got bored after a year or so then sold it and bought another 04 v6 and have been enjoying it ever since. even though it has nothing to do with my exhaust thread i'll toss up a pic of each car because i do love them all ^^

first v6

GT

2nd v6

That would be just as front end heavy if not moreso then the GT. So it defeats the purpose for me. Locally on auto x events i outrun my friends gt500 constantly including back mountain roads. Too much power + corners don't mix in most cases.

And thanks everyone
