Basic Knowledge?

So, on AM's install guide for the Borla Stingers it mentions to not use air impact tools to tighten the fasteners on the system. That's mentioned for the DIY-er's benefit, right?

For a lot of things I've read like that, I wonder if my mechanic knows that. Is it basic knowledge that he should have for the install of it, or should I mention it to him? He's a master certified ASE technician. I think that's his title.

Same goes for the fact that my H-pipe says to cut the stock midpipe at a certain point so it reuses the stock cats and the exhaust system hangs correctly.

Thanks for the help

Used air tools on mine, zero issues.

Pick your poison.

Right, but that's all things a mechanic should know by default, right, where to cut the stock Y-pipe to preserve and reuse the cats and such?

It all depends on how often they work on certain things.

Hmm...fair enough. I'll just be sure to mention some of those things in passing to him then, just to be sure. I don't want to be condescending though

Yeah just point some things out just to be safe. I get what you are saying about being condescending though

I would not mention something like that......he knows (assume) if he uses air to be careful and the only bad part would be breaking the clamp which he would replace. I would instead mention "w/o insulting I do expect the tips to be aligned" I will say printing up install sheets and leaving them in car as hints ain't bad...assuming he can read.

the few times I've brought my car in for wtty service I leave a note mention reverse is hard to get into and to respect my car.
