Concerning Noise

So, I just had my much-anticipated Borla's installed ( ) and now at ignition, I sometimes hear a knock or "pop" kind of noise from various parts of the undercarriage. I've heard it in the passenger side back, center back, and basically right under where I sit. I've only started the car since the new exhaust maybe 7 times.

No idea what it is.

It kind of sounds like, if you've ever heard it, on the engine deceleration with dual exhausts the kind of slight popping noise from the exhaust. Here's a video of a Mustang with a similar exhaust set-up as mine to help explain better: https://youtu.be/CtPMVC3wubY?t=59s At about the 1 minute mark, you hear the sound.

This, paired with the fact that my car was refusing to be refueled today are both kind of worrying me. I put in the nozzle and it was filling up the thousandths of a gallon extremely slowly. Then I went to a different station and tried to fuel up and it just went for about a third of a second and clanked off like it was full. Tried one more time and it fueled up without a hitch.

Sorry to make that so long, but there are a lot of things I think might be important details

If it's a pop like in the video then that is completely normal. Most exhaust systems will do that.

It's like the pop in the video, but louder, at ignition and occasionally acceleration, and it sounds more sudden and jarring. I'll keep an ear out for the next time I hear it and see if it just sounds like the exhaust doing its thing

My outlaws would always give one loud pop right after I started my car on a cold start. If you can get a video im sure we could tell you if it was normal

Unfortunately, I can't get a high enough quality video to really demonstrate it, but a loud pop right after startup on a cold engine does sound like what I'm talking about

That little pop was the thing I liked about my outlaws. My uncles Zo6 has a pretty gnarly pop to it as well.

LS motors crackle so much, it made going back to my Bullitt quite a disappointment

What part of the system would that be and how would I check it?

He's talking about spark plugs. Basically pull your spark plug wire off and remove your spark plug to see if there are any unusual colors to it.

Oh, duh. I thought he meant an O2 sensor plug or something. I'll be sure to look at it. I also have an occasional kind of clank...but I'll try to describe it later because I can't remember it. I just got back from having my car stuck, perpendicular to the road for two hours. All I can hear in my head is my tires screeching from trying to reverse to no avail.

Nope, just the spark plugs.

It's probably an exhaust pipe bumping the body. It's pretty common on exhaust installs.

Are your tires that bald? I've always had good luck with rocking the car back and forth to build some momentum to get out of a rut. Or you can just carry some kitty litter with you in the trunk.

Good to know for the exhaust pipe.

And, nope, the tires are new. 240lbs of sand on the rear axle, had kitty litter behind the wheels, couldn't move forward at all. I eventually got out by revving it to 3000 and dropping the clutch in reverse. That moved me back a few feet, then I ultimately just drove up onto the curb and out from there
