if your goin turbo good luck! i tried but it was really expensive! tma has got a kit for like 1600 i think! but then u gotta pay installtion fees and that high dollars! im goin with the m90 supercharger! got it off a thunder bird! i actually got one used and in good condition for 260 bucks! just shop around and see what u like but the cost effective way would be the eaton m90!

Anybody and I mean Anybody with a set of hand tools, and the reading comprehension of an 8th grader can install almost anything on a car. Save yourself money and do installs your self. Now gears, and internal work is more advanced and you may not wanna mess with that.
Anyway TMA's cheapest turbo kit is about $3,200 and should take you a weekend to install. As with anything your going to need bigger fuel injectors, a fuel pump, and a dyno tune so average about 7-900$ more onto your tab. You can find used s/c kits sometimes from 1800-2500$ on 3.8mustang/v6power.net
The supercoupe m90 is a big headache if you have a 99-04 you have to convert back to single port heads, plus the super coupe motor was built to withstand the heat and the blower our bottom end is not.

turbo will make more power easier~ the limit seems to be 340-400rwhp~ if you are in that range you need a great tune and you should be ok... but you simply never know.
Some do the M112 from the 03/04 cobra and get around 300rwhp without to much hassle~ the kit is non intercooled and overall its a nice setup~ just cant run your stock hood with it.
A turbo kit will cost you much more but make better power in the end~ and a vortech or procharger also will make around 300rwhp at 12-14psi~ and are warrantied~ and fit under the stock hood. A turbo will make that power much lower in boost though.
all of these numbers are quoted for manuals trans, the auto sucks about 7 more percent from em.

I'm looking for a supercharger/ turbo at some point, I'd make my own thread but can't afford one yet (probably in a year or two atleast)
where can you get a vortech or procharger? I haven't been able to find em for the sixers.
which one is more reliable out of the turbo, vortech and procharger?
does the turbo put less strain on the engine since it can get more rwhp at lower psi?

i saw the procharger for the v6 at ProCharger Self-contained Superchargers and Intercooled Supercharging Systems, gonna cost you about 4600 for a badass kit brand new...
the vortech has been stated to be more reliable and you can find those kits used for around $1800
the turbo is less strain and perfectly reliable plus has more power potential

lol sounds like turbo is better, is it more complicated to install?
I'd definitely need something reliable, just looking for modest gains (260-300, or more if it doesn't hurt the engine much more ) and as little engine straining as possible since its a daily driver with just moderate street racing and some planned autocross.
and where can I get a turbo? i've seen just tma advertised around the forums, that the way to go?

i have a tma kit on the way for kyles car, i will post feedback after i see how it fits, but it is more invoilved to do a turbo than a supercharger and a car lift is reccommended.just plan a $5,000 budget when building a kit.

well, we bought kyles in pieces i wasent sure if he offered everything needed.judging from the pictures, its missing fuel pump, mass air, injectors, and a programmer
so i figured(some assembly required)
its a good idea to have a 5K budget when going into a turbo build.

Well I've had a complete new Vortech kit (literally complete) for good 4-5 months and it's still in my closet collecting dust! Right now I have 1000 bucks saved and I don't think it will be enough to install it and dyno tune it...maybe yes if I do it myself, but I just can't afford to mess anything. I was also thinking of selling it, but haven't decided yet!

My Major is COMPUTER SCIENCE not mechanics. That being said it took me 6hours to install my vortech. It would be really hard to screw that up honestly.

That's what i don't like!

That's what i don't like! | Its simple: Easy way for a/c line discharge it (the right or wrong way) have take it apart have them cut it and weld -an fittings then use braided hose and their you go new ac line. injectors just snap in make sure the o rings aren't damaged, fuel pump drop tank pull out (don't remember think it was 2 Phillips heads?) drop new one in put tank back in place bolt it up make sure you get a fuel filler pipe grommet from ford your 90% gonna own yours. take it to the dyno shop they will handle the rest.
