Removing starter

My starter went out a few days ago on my 01 so I picked up a used one from an 03. After finally getting the top and bottom bolt out, my progress was stopped by a ground wire that didn't want to come loose. Is there something I'm missing or a specific way to get this wire loose? Played with it for an hour and couldn't get the bolt holding it on loose. Any suggestions would be appreciated

After seeing it today in the daylight I've realized it is the bottom bolt to the starter that has the ground cable attached to it. The "bottom bolt" I thought I removed wasn't even connected to my starter. Guess that's why lighting is important :sly:
For some reason though the bottom bolt will not come out, as every time I try to turn it the ground cable rotates with it.

So after a lot of wrenching and torque I got the bolts off but the starter won't fit through the hole. Is it necessary to remove the AT lines? I don't see any way to get this starter out or to unbolt the solenoid wires. Any help would be appreciated

I'll have to get the car towed today if I can't get the starter out. Everything is unbolted except the selonoid wires, and I can't get to them because the starter won't come out through hole under the car. If I'm missing a step here or if anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it. 100 views and nobody has replied yet

are you holding the nut that is closest to the starter with one wrench and loosening the other?

I got the nut off and the starter loose, but I can't get the starter to come out the hole from the bottom. Do I need to unbolt the two solenoid wires from above or is there a way to get to them from below?

I can not pull the starter out because the two at transmission lines are in the way. If they weren't there this would be a lot easier. Is it even possible to remove it without removing the lines?

Thanks strange mud for your replies but I went ahead and had the car towed to a mechanic. I was so close, yet so far away
