comp cam question

not really sure how to explain this but, I just installed strip and street comp cam in my 2000 v6 but think they may have sent me the wrong cam because when I turn the crank by hand the cam wont spin because the comp cam is not set up like my stock cam. stock cam has a tooth that can lock into the cam gears that makes it spin with the crank but my new cam has a dip in it where the tooth should be which wont allow it to properly aligned with the gears. first pic is my comp cam 2nd is my stock. Is this how they sell these. expected to have this done by tomorrow.

You need to remove the keyway from the slot in your old camshaft and insert it into the slot in your new camshaft.
It can be removed by pounding a small screwdriver or chisel underneath the keyway until it lifts out of the slot. Or you can purchase a new one to install. I'm not sure if the auto parts stores have them, but the camshaft keyway is probably available at your local Ford dealership.
