stupid bolts won't come out...advice?

Anyone have any advice for getting the bolts out of the head? I'm on my second impact (the first one was a wimp, so I went and got a better one) and I still can't get 3-4 of the stupid things out.
And what do you do about the one in the back on the driver's side that's blocked by the brake booster? I thought about taking the booster off, but I can't get to the bolts for it without taking off the brake pedal. Sheesh. To be sooo close...

...taking off the heads...we decided to have them checked out at the shop before putting it all back together. (I tore it all apart because the head gasket was trashed and needed replacing.)

Sometimes a long breaker bar can do the job that an impact cant try to get a bar as long as possible

spray them with penetrating oil and let them sit for a while....even over night and then try an impact or breaker bar to get them out....with the one in the back, can you use swivels and extentions to get at it? without seeing it, its tough for me to visualize whats happening back there

what engine are you doing this to? i usually drop the k menber for a head swap.only takes 15-30 min and you have all the room you need, and i use a 3ft breaker bar to break them loose then a 1/2" impact

Judging by the forum...I'm going to guess it is a V6....prolly a 3.8L.

I know of this bolt. It is a *****.

I did a whole install using only a breaker bar, no impact gun at all.

I used a U-joint with a 1/2" socket on a 3 foot breaker bar. Not one bolt gave me trouble. The key is quick bumps. Dont just push on the bar with all your might. Hit it suddenly.

This is the best way to do it. Use leverage to your advantage and put on the longest breaker bar you can find. Use quick taps of pressure instead of a constant pressure so you don't break the bolts.
