Question 100,000

Hey guys really glad to have found this site it is a lot of help. With all that being said, my 2003 stock V6 3.8 Liter Mustang is about to hit the big 100,000 mile mark and I was wondering if there are any issues I should be looking out for, and what maintenance should I have performed on it when this happens.

Re: 100,000

check your filters and clean your TB and MAF if they appear dirty as well, it helps alot in the end to control idle drop/surge.

Re: 100,000

Be careful on transmission flush if you've never had it flushed before

Drain/refill might be a better option at 100k miles

100k miles is also the factory recommended time for spark plugs/wires, Other than that, should be good to go another 100k

Re: 100,000

100k is nothing on newer engines. Like they said, if you haven't done it lately do plugs and wires and general fluid flushes and you're good to go.

My old 02 V6 has over 110,000 on it right now and still runs like a champ. I drove the crap out of that car.

Re: 100,000

I'm with everyone on the general fluid flushes and upkeep..

My sidenote though, is.. My 94 v6 had 150,000 on her when I got her.. and I drove the hell out of her. She might just be up near 200,000 or so now.

Re: 100,000

coolant (full drain/fill with premix dont use tap water) every 30k miles
oil change/filter every 3k miles
transmission fluid change/filter every 12k miles (20-30k if manual... and no filter)
spark plug change every 30k check wires and change maybe every 60k if oem ford
rear end fluid change around 50k~ not a big deal but easy enough
grease bushings every time you can (every year or two at least)
some use seafoam to clean out the engine every year or two~ works good they say
power steering fluid drain/fill at 5 year mark (mine is due...)
brake fluid drain/fill at 5 year mark

other things just change/check and such mostly keep the fluids clean and changed regularly.
