Strip/Daily Driver

My 2004 Mustang V6 has 60,000 miles and Im looking for a upgrade. I wanted to put in a 428 crate engine. What kind of suspension and transmission uprades will I need to do? Can I use a Semi automatic trans, if so were can I get one? Would the 428 be too big for a daily driver, if so what should kind of engine should I drop in her?
Thanks For any Help,
Kyle

I could be wrong, but I don't believe a 428 would even fit into a SN95 New Edge Chasis...and if it did, it would be a HELL of a lot of work...far more than the car is worth...so my suggestions is that unless you are sentimentally attached to the 04, sell it, and buy an old fox body or something of the sort that you can build up and make power out of CHEAP...because the cost you would incur trying to essentially swap out 99% of the 04's drive-train and suspenstion would be astronomical compared to what it would cost to just buy a fox body in decent shape and put a motor in it...

a semi auto trans? i think you need to do alot of research before tryin to do anything. drop a 4 valve 5.4 in it. that'd be fun.

So you're planning to go from a v6 to a 428?

Realistically, now..

Not trying to be a prick but that's like going from a civic to a cobra... but a lot more work

It is a few inches longer then the engine bay and goes into the front bumer. I would sell it but I dont think it is worth anything since I bought it totaled, and had to saved it. But I think I will just drop a 5.4 4V into her like Spark Plug said.

you need to have a great knowledge of the swap before you try this, its not exactly a drop-in deal

Re: Strip/Daily Driver

easiest way to drop a 5.4 in it, is tp hang the 5.4 about 10 ft about the car. make sure old engine is out. and let go of the chain holding the 5.4. that should create enough clearence and fit nicely. also make sure no hands, arms, people, cats, or current wives and gf's are under the motor at the time.
