want true dual exhaust and has to be flowmaster

ok so i want true dual exhaust and it has to be flowmaster. I dont want it to sound like a truck with straight pipes but i want it to be a clean crisp mustang howl. It sounds good with the CAI but you always have to go the next step.

so im hearing a lot about the 40 series but how does it compare to everything else? HELP!!!

OK. First off. Your not gonna get rid of the droning of the exhaust (AKA the "rice-ness) due to the location of the muffler.

People are gonna say on here "Flowmaster sucks" blah blah. Everyone has they're own opinions on exhaust sound.

Summit Racing sell Flowmaster cat-back systems for less than $400.

Happy Reving.

like dom said, everyone has a different opinion when it comes to exhaust. I have flowmaster 40's and I really like the way my car sounds. I have heard magnaflow and borla and others on sixers around my town, and I still like flows the best. that is my opinion.

Since you are young you want loud. Flowmasters are loud and they also drone (High pulsating sound that comes into the car thru the floor at highway speeds all flows do it delta's and 50's just do it less). I had flows on my car for 3 days and went to Dynomax ultraflows.

There are MAC Flowpath and Magnaflows which are both nice as well as flowtech warlocks, Dynomax Ultraflows and super turbos(which is what Roush use to put on there cars before they switched to magnaflows

I will be honest and saying go listen to exhaust and dont take anybody's word. You know what you want for sound. Just dont follow a pack who have the same thing.

Just my 2 cents

I have Dynomax like Corey and love them, I have side pipes so at Idle mine sound kinda diffrent, just because the angle of the bends on my pipe its all custom, cat back. But if you like the sound get what you like.

aight so i went up to Larry Greene (does the best exhaust work around richmond) and he is asking for $425 parts, labor, everything for the flows 40 and it would take em 2 hours.

Is it a good price?
Does everything sound legit?

Questions about the 40s:
How much increase in HP?
How much Torque - gain/loss?
Will it effect my gas mileage?
Will it shake the car?
Street Legal?
With or W/o a catalytic converter?

When it comes to sound im pretty easy because im sure ill like it.
But im all about HP, Torque, and effects on gas mileage.
So taking those three things into consideration what do yall recommend?

keep your cats! you need them or a very good state-certified inspector friend to pass emissions.

Is it a good price?..........kind of high but I would call around
Does everything sound legit? is that mandrel bent pipes

Questions about the 40s:
How much increase in HP? may 2 HP gain at best
How much Torque - gain/loss? with 2.25 pipes neither with 2.5 pipes a loss
Will it effect my gas mileage? NO
Will it shake the car? NO but it will be noisy at highway speeds
Street Legal? Yes
With or W/o a catalytic converter? With converters

Really with a near stock motor you wont gain much power and no torque gains, just really sound better. You can consider Dual exhaust as a necessary step in the modding world. As you get more mods especially P&P heads, intakes, SC or Nitrous you will need the extra flow.

well I had Flow 40's on for three days and I went back and had them replace them with Dynomax ultraflows. At about 1800 rpm on the interstate to about 2800 the flow pulses (Drones) something fierce. I have found alot of young people do not mind this. I actually had complaints from people riding with me and I could not listen to my music at low level in my car and enjoy cruising down the interstate

i had the same issue with my spintechs. i did a "dumped" set up, the pipes didn't extend to the back of the car, just downpipes right after the muffler in front of the rear axle. it sounded MEAN down low, but anything over 2k rpm gave me a pretty loud drone. just driving around town it wasn't that bad but on an extended highway trip where i would go 70+ for an extended time i had to turn the radio pretty loud to hear it over the drone. it was cool for a time, but having a vehicle with a quiet cab is a nice change.

well when my car was not heavily modded like it is now It had a nice rumble at idle when you gunned it it got loud and growls very similar to flowpath or magna flows. Now with all my mods it sounds like heel breaking loose when I stomp on it and at Idle rumbles like a 5.0 on steroids with my wild cam

i drive on the highway up to my lake all the time in the summer, and i really don't think that they are that annoying. Everyone has a different opinon i guess. I don't think they are that bad on the highway, and i love the way they sound around town.
