Need quick advice

I found a NIB Edelbrock wet kit for sport compacts for $350 on a local forum. Will a wet kit work with the 3.8 mustang or would I need a dry kit?

Re: Need quick advice

well I talked to one of my buddies today whos a Ford Tech. Hes telling me I can spray the wet shot at 70hp without a tune. Any opinions on this? I can kinda see why being that its a wet shot where as the dry shot only adds gasses so u need to up the fuel. Should I adjust my timing or anything for the spray? Or get a tune like I was gonna?

Re: Need quick advice

you can spray a 125 shot on a stock motor, i dont reccommend more than 100 though, you probably dont need a tune but it sure makes it safer, and i dont like dry kits

Re: Need quick advice

Wet kits are the best way to go, they mix the nitrous and fuel together in a single fogger. I ran a 75 shot for years on my Saturn. no problems. Just make sure you use WOT or TPS switch to activate the Nitrous System. 91 or better Gas and 1-2 step colder non platinum plugs. you may want to ****** the timing by 1degree

other things I would get are a Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge, a Nitrous blow down safety tube, bottle heater, and bottle pressure gauge.

Re: Need quick advice

yeah dont squeeze under 3500rpms.. a WOT or TPS switch should prevent that

Re: Need quick advice

Should I pick up a nitrous controller to help keep it from spraying under 3500 as well? Also would one of those cheap A/F Meters from Advance be ok till I can get a wideband?

Re: Need quick advice

Just save up and get a wide band... Something that wont ever happen again I agree with TPS about hating dry kits.

If your reallly worried about your motor you may want to get some form of a tune to make sure everything is running smooth.

Re: Need quick advice

Your best bet is to create your own thread, it will gain more attention that way. Did you test to see where its leaking from?

A TPS or WOT switch would be fine, however if you are really worried you can use either one together with a window switch. this will allow the nitrous to only engage between set RPM levels. so even if you happen to be at WOT and below 3500rpms the nitrous system will not engage.

Re: Need quick advice

rpm activation has nothing to do with the motor popping, its about breaking the tires loose, i know people spraying at 1500rpms, 2600 is what mine comes in at and i dont think its soon enough for *non track racing*if you spray from 3500 to 5k, you will be disappointed, aslo nitrous is more dangerous at higher rpms than lower rpms just like boost

Re: Need quick advice

I've seen several popped motors squeezing under 3500rpms. also seen several from over revving. the rpm window switch is just a good saftey tool. then again i am talking about a weak honda/toyota motor. i've never attempted or seen a mustang squeeze.

Re: Need quick advice

I guess what Ill do is start spraying at 3k for now and see how it does then get a mastermind and tune it for progressive spray up to the 100% mark.

Re: Need quick advice

if you are doing progressive, you can start the spray at 2500 and reach full spray at 4500

Re: Need quick advice

you gonna have to buy it from autocad directly, i got it through my work and it was like $17K for a reusable disc for our whole office, i think its gonna run you about $800 for a personal program.

there are several versions, mechanical, archetectural, and educational, if you are un expierienced, i reccommend the educational one because its a little more self explanitory when compared to the mechanical and you can do either function in it as well as 3D design
