They all do the same thing. Whether it be cheap or expensive, k&n or BBK. But you live in Cali so you need one that has a carb number.

yes the throttle bodies are different i believe i would stick with one for a 3.8. Your not gonna notice a huge difference. Maybe 3-5hp nothing huge. So just make sure it has a carb number and its not to expensive.

the only real thing to decide on is keeping the filter in the engine bay or moving it into the fender well~ overall its all about the same, about 5hp/5tq if your lucky (on 94-04 v6s)

Or save yourself some money and just get a drop in K&N filter for about $40 and get the same kind of gains.

They are the same. As stated above the only difference is if you want the filter in the fender or under the hood.

Re: Mustang v6 3.8 cool air intake help

Not a problem. You wanna make sure it has a carb number incase you get pulled over and they check. Most cheap ones dont have a carb number.

You can send them an email or call them. Either way they will be able to tell you. I would recommend calling.

If you live in California, then you need a carb number. If you don't, you're fine.

A carb number is a certification number that commifornia requires be on all aftermarket auto parts stating that it complies with some sort of emmisions standards.

Re: Mustang v6 3.8 cool air intake help

Is it a pain to get the filter off under the fender? Does it catch alot of dirt and water under there?
