Re: v6 mustang exhaust help

i have mac long tubes, o/r h-pipe, and flowmasters dumped. i absolutely love it!!! minus the car vibrating, but im going back with a catback. i noticed big time gains up top with the l/t's and h-pipe. i have 4.10 gears though so i didnt really notice that much of a loss down low. sound is awesome though and probably gonna get as close to the best sounding v6 as you can for the money. have fun with the install though.

neither. big gains with the headers and mid-pipe. you arent gonna really notice the catback. and the catback sounds like nothing without at least a mid-pipe. and then you should still get o/r if you want it to be loud. its just how far youre willing to go. i got my headers, o/r h-pipe, gaskets, mufflers with turndowns for $450. and installed it with a few friends. it definately beats the $350 i spent on my catback alone the first time around though.

Re: v6 mustang exhaust help

the only down side to most exhaust systems for v-6s is they sound ricy and you wanna try to stay away from that.

i can say mine sounds real deep down low. in upper rpm's, its not ricey, but you know its a 6. i kinda like it that way though. and im one who hates ricers.

thanks. i think kyle will agree that the flowmasters sound the best for our cars. if you just want a small improvement, then get just the catback. it you want really improved sound and performance, do the full exhaust like i did.

I have flowmaster 40 on mine. Once you put some miles on them they sound good

Re: v6 mustang exhaust help

Not sure on that. Ive never ordered anything from them. When you order exhaust it normally comes with hangers, gaskets, and on the occasion bolts. You might call them just to make sure.

I have a 98 3.8 with o/r x pipe and flowmaster 40 series, when its idling 80% of plp cant tell its a v6 but when i get up to about 3000 rpm thats when u can start telling its a v6.

Re: v6 mustang exhaust help

I know what you mean. I have an 07 4.0 with PYPES race x-pipe catback system, and even when I'm full foot to the wood people still think it's an 8.

Yes they do. I bought the Borla From them 2 weeks ago. I just haven’t installed them yet. Great price for Borla’s. Way less then any Flow Master system.

Re: v6 mustang exhaust help

Go with borla if you can, they sound amazing. I have the borla system on my six and I love it. Really good tone all through the RPM range. Never ricey at all. I have had it for a year now and love it. Now I am gonna add a set of longtubes and catted H-pipe to the mix hopefully it sounds even better. I will post up a before and after later on. Borla's for sure though.

Re: v6 mustang exhaust help

I installed my Borla system. I order it for the GT and had an X-pipe made. Man what difference. It does not drone or get very loud. I love the sound. Borla FTW.
