2300 heads respond well because there is nothing but room for improvement.
I love these engines, but that is why we have to blow on them so hard to make any power (I still doubt I am in the 200hp range yet).
Oh well, I have a spare head and a ported E6 to go on soon(if only I had money to do the head too), that should help a little bit.
