| Is it Saleen or is it GT??
Well..you've probably seen that one thread where I said I could get my hands on a Saleen exhaust. A buddy of mine knew a dude who knew somebody...etc. Anyway, got them shipped to me for $150 total including the H-pipe. If I remember right, they were supposed to be off an 02. I got them in and stuck them in my garage. First glance, the mufflers looked like the GT takeoffs I've seen in so many pictures. Didn't bother me too much because I still spent less than if I went somewhere else. Well, they've been sitting there in my garage for a few weeks and I finally went out and took all the protective wrapping off of it. Something didn't look right. I laid them out side by side and noticed that the bend in the pipe after the muffler that allows the pipe to go over the rear axle didn't do an arc off the ground. Instead, it bent out to the side....both of them did. At the current angle, they would go straight into my rear axle.
I don't know anything about Saleens or how they are modified. Does the exhaust route differently? I'm thinking I can get these cut and made to go on correctly. Just curious about the difference in the pipe.

I don't have a digital camera but I have a video camera that can take pictures. I tried that function in the past but the pictures suck! I'll give it another try and see if I can post some pics later.

Its a 99+ Cobra system. You could have a shop with the right pipe bending tools bend it to where it will go over your axle.

honestly it sounds like you have a Cobra Exhaust with the IRS setup, were they wrap outward, instead of going over the axle....
here is a picture from my friends 03's cobra up on a lift shirtly after we had his Borla Stingers installed...
just to give the picture idea to everyone...

yeha, that sounds like IRS and not compatable w/ your car. you'll need a muffler shop to cut them and reweld them to where it coudl work.

You guys are right. Looked at a Cobra exhaust and looked at mine again and they look identical. Just trying to get an idea on cost now. How much would you guys expect to pay to get these installed?

I would turn around and sell them, and get the 99+ GT Exhaust for your car, instead of worrying about modding the pipes, cause the cobra exhaust i dont believe will mount up to your car...

I know the mounting rods that are welded to the pipe are in the wrong place but I figure those could be easily moved. I assume that the bend could be easily overcome. May cost a few dollars more to make the change than just getting the regular GT takeoffs. Other than that, would there be any other problems? I really don't want to go through the hassle of trying to sell these.

No all that you have to do is take that exaust to a local muffler shop. They will cut the tail pipes off and bend you some to fit your car. They can still use everything but the tail pipes
