upgrading my stang

hi, i have a v6 2001 i m planning to get a new set of wheels bullit style, 17 x 10.5 back, and im not sure if 17 x 8 or 17 x9 front

will the 17 x 9 can cause some rub at full sterring?

the wheels are 5.94" (151mm) back spacing and +24mm (0.94") off set

or a 17 x 8 is recommended?

Re: upgrading my stang

The backspacing and offset is for a 99-04 wheel, so that's good. You may have some rubbing at full lock in either direction, but it's nothing serious. Just remember to allow room to turn without completely locking the wheels.

I would go with the 17x9s, they look way better than the 17x8s, they still tuck into the well too much, at least for me. Plus the wider tires are always a handling improvement.

What finish are you getting on the bullitts? black, chrome, anthracite?

OOh! Black with black /chrome wheels is hotter than hell! Look up some pics on american muscle to see how it looks. Chrome looks really good also.
If you do get black ones, i would get it with the chrome lip, it looks way better than the solid black.

and yes, the specs on 17x9s is 5.94" and +24.
17x8s is 5.72 backspacing and 30mm offset

Re: upgrading my stang

The 9 inch wheel will not be a problem. Been running a 9 inch wheel with a 275 width tire on mustangs for a few years now. Rubbed a little in the V6 at full lock...fix to that was not to go full lock.

Re: upgrading my stang

that rim with that offset WILL rub at full turn but you dont need to turn it that much~ its not a bad rub either, it will rub a little on the front sway bar and the inner fender. The 03 cobra had a lock limiter to keep them from rubbing on it FYI.

Re: upgrading my stang

So if you put the lock limiter on a different Mustang would it work?
