Re: Whats next?

they say tunes on the 05+ make a big difference, at least on the gt's not sure about the 4.0's, suspension is usually overlooked and helps out a ton

I'd say go straight for a power adder with a few supporting mods.

Hey man, i have the same car as you basically except its a 2005. but i think dadant is right, that should really be your next step. i skipped the dam gears part and now im pissed cause i need them now.

i have a procharger supercharger on it, new throttle body, kooks headers, no cats, super 40 flows, and ofcourse a custom tune. is yours a stick or an auto cause my sorry *** has an auto lol

aparently you should get only motive or ford gears for the 4:10s i was told today. yukon makes too much noise according to my mechanic. Too bad currently i cant find any freaken gears online. everyones OUT OF STOCK.

The tuner is a must, but the supercharger is where you really will notice a difference. Mine is an Auto too.

Re: Whats next?

Wait 4:10 gears are out of stock? Dumb question but do 05-09' have the same rear as 99-04? I know mine is a 7.5 inch rear end and I'm always seeing crazy advertisement for gears. Worst case scenario ebay some nice used ones for cheap...I'm pretty sure they are available through jegs as I know they are for my car, however haven't looked into getting some gears for quite some time. Here is the link with the install kit etc etc.

Re: Whats next?

never get used gears.
imo. im not going to take a risk of something being defected or damaged then end up costing me double or triple in new gears and fixing the damage they might possibly cause. you might get lucky but i wouldnt take the chance.

Re: Whats next?

go ford racing gears, other gears like richman and what not can whine... the ford racing are plenty strong, you will break a spider gear in a 7.5 tlok before the gears.

sure man, again ford does NOT make gears for our cars. never forget we are the v6ers, we are the forgoton children of ford lol

2005 2006 2007 2008 Mustang Drivetrain Components at V6MustangStuff.com

you will find your gears here and the master installation kit that you should by with it.

may the torque be with you!

my mechanic is a yukon dealer so im paying a little less. but only saving like 30 bucks man.

you should know that i was told by him that the gears tend to be a little noisey at first. do not be alarmed thats just how the yukon and motive gears are. he said in time they will stop making noise as the teeth are worn down a bit.

I finally found someone in the Denver area to put in my 3:73 gears for a reasonable price ($260.00) he has been in business for a long time and specializes in differentials. So...the C&C plates I'll put on this weekend and the gears go in on Monday...moving right along! Now for the electronics...my specialty!
