v6 vs rx7

My buddy recently bought an 87 rx7. I have an 04 v6 5spd..who would win in 1/4 mile? Both of us have exhaust and cai. If it wasnt for me being ina motorcycle accident I would have already raced him but im just curious to know what yall think before I get back on my feet and race him...thanks

Re: v6 vs rx7

Yeah well his is a 5spd too..he thinks the odds are in his favor because of his dual fart cans..I guess we'll have to see in about a month when I can finally get back behind the wheel

Re: v6 vs rx7

lol if he thinks fart cans will help him win, u need to sit down with your buddy and talk sense into him. all those generation rx7's came with dual exhaust, no matter what model it was, so its not a hp gain. its not even true duals to promote any gain. like i said, i think u will overtake him.

Re: v6 vs rx7

A 1/4 ,ile run you will win but from a 45 to 60 roll you will lose. I use to have an rx7 and raced v6 mustangs all the time.

Re: v6 vs rx7

there is a better chance those fart cans take away performance than gain from it.

Re: v6 vs rx7

An N/A 87Rx-7 is sloooooooow, and he may have dual fart cannons, but no RX7 has true dual exhaust, they are all y-pipes. I'm pretty sure you'll take him.

Re: v6 vs rx7

Uh, no, they don't even have pistons, cams, valves or any of that stuff, it's like 3 moving parts total, 4 spark plugs, and 2 exhaust ports.

Re: v6 vs rx7

In a straight line you could probably give him a run for his money, not too sure about in the corners. The RX-7 is a very good car in terms of handling...

Yep is gonna be a waste of time. You should win, and your friend might be better off converting to a single exhaust set up if he plans on using straight through mufflers.

And why in the hell did he put 2 canister mufflers on that thing. god that RX probably sound worse then then a queen bee on pms
