Little help with the SES please?

So when I first got the car it had a really sqeaky belt which seemed to be the culprit of the codes. Recently the SES light has come on yet again but the belts been replaced since the last time I cleared the codes. Nothing whatsoever has been effected by it but the last time I ran the codes it came up Cam Position Sensor Bank 2. Anything I should seriously worry about? Ill be getting a Diablo Tuner soon, can I clear the codes with this? The light came on shortly after I dropped the clutch in 5th gear around 4k rpms by accident.

Re: Little help with the SES please?

Is it P0340? If so... replace your alternator. Lots of 99+ Mustangs have problems spitting that code out (Its the CPS Bank 2 code) and then after replacing their CPS and belt (you already got the belt) the Alternator died on them which ended up being the actual thing that fixed the light.

Re: Little help with the SES please?

Do you think a new battery would help, or recharging it? Its a brand new battery but I ran it dead about a month ago and never bothered to really charge it after I jumped it. So maybe Im just stressing the alt trying to charge my battery back up on it? The battery is good and it will hold a charge I just never bothered to re-boost it.

Re: Little help with the SES please?

I doubt it. I'd still go with the alternator. Autozone or Advanced Autoparts will let you return the ALT if you buy it and it doesn't fix the problem. (All you got to do is ask before buying. They will say you can 99.999% of the time and if they say no, walk out and go to another one) They can test your current ALT too but I don't really trust that personally.

Re: Little help with the SES please?

I think mine was less than 200 dollars. It's been awhile though. Not completely sure.
