New C&C plates!

Had the dual exhaust installed. Magnaflow 40's with an H pipe and chrome turndowns tucked behind the facia. Pictures of the install are in my album if your interested. Took the car to have the alignment done after installing the shocks, springs and struts this weekend. They were not able to bring the front end back into proper alignment. I ordered a set of J&M Mustang 4-Bolt Caster Camber Plates from AmericanMuscle this evening...oh, and a chin spoiler. I'm sure this will resolve the problem. Has anyone installed these plates? This is a new one for me. Is it a fun afternoon project or a complete pain in the ***...either way I will do it...just need to adjust my attitude in advance...

CAI and UDP. True dual exhaust, with magnaflow's, H pipe, chrome turndowns. J&M 4 bolt camber/caster plates. 3:73 gears. SCT X3.

Re: New C&C plates!

its very easy to work on, the hardest part is decompressing the spring. Overall its not hard. I have a spring how to on this site in the article section. That will tell you how to decompress the front spring (basically do the front spring install but dont take the spring out lol) then just install them and you will have to drill one hold and such. Tq specs are important. Take your time of course.

Re: New C&C plates!

If you're mechanically inclined it's not bad. I can do a set in under 30 minutes now. Just take your time, it all makes sense.

Welcome to the mod world btw, it never ends once you start...

I just did all 4 of them on Saturday...so provided CRS doesn't kick in within the next few days I'll probably remember. I was really hoping to not have to drop everything again...can't just compress the strut and move it out of the way?

Re: New C&C plates!

You will be able to compress the strut and move it, the problem, however, will be putting the bottom plate on the underside if so equipped, this will leave you with limited room. It will probably work out easier to unbolt the lower control arm so you can swing the whole assembly out of the way, you can leave the brake caliper bolted in place in doing this, the hose should leave you enough room.

Re: New C&C plates!

Thanks Lowflyn...that is a couple of bolts less. Doesn't sound like a major deal provided the springs don't pop out. Hopefully I'll get it done this weekend. Now I need to find someone in the Denver area that will set up my rear end for a reasonable price...any takers?

Re: New C&C plates!

Write up a how to on them with good pictures of just CC plate installation and we will post it up in our article section. We have a spring install but not a cc plate specific one.

I'll see if I can get a digital camera before the weekend...I usually just plow thru mechanical jobs...this may take some planning.
