v6 clutch pedal

I have a 2001 v6 w/ a 5 speed .I have noticed recently that the clutch pedal rattles at different speeds. I have tried the owners manual adjustment suggestion but the problem remains. Any suggestions??

Re: v6 clutch pedal

Define rattle, you hear it, feel it, etc?

If its a squeel that is only at given rpms (or speed) that goes away when you push the clutch in then its the throwout bearing not the clutch petal.

Re: v6 clutch pedal

if the petal feels notchy not really a vibration as much as its not smoothly sliding in/out thats about what I went through. I kept having throwout bearings go out. It may just be the throwout bearing, but if you go through the hassle of changing that you need to change the bearing retainer sleeve (what the throwout slides on) check the input shaft play, pressure plate and clutch with a new or resurfaced flywheel... i know thats everyuthing lol oh and the clutch cable as well and make sure the fork arm is not sliding on the dust shield and making it stick a bit (first thing to check as its one bolt lol just follow where the clutch cable goes into the transmission, take off that little cover the fork arm is where the cable attaches, look for rub marks in the little dust sheild from the fork arm)

thats about all i have. I never fixed mine, I just kept the squeel away due to keeping tension on the clutch cable.
