someone with 4.10's

ive been looking around for something to do to my car have the simple things taken care of, k&n filtercharger w/ custom heat shield. duals with bullets rims, tires. now im lookin for something to step it up out of the hole.
so im thinking 4.10 with t-lok. now my assumption is im gonna need it simply cuz with the 3.23' i believe came stock in 01, i can still spin the "tire" from a dead stop and thats slowing me down itself. but my question is, someone whose got the 4.10 with the auto, did you notice a jump in the rpm's on the highway i frequently take highway trips, 1.5-2 hrs, what kinda rpm's do you push at 70-100. curious because if its high, a trannycooler will probably be needed. or can i get away with it.

you would be alright without a tranny cooler, but even without gears a tranny cooler is a great thing to get to increase your tranny life

I went from 2.73's to 3.73's in my Camaro. It was about a 1000rpm jump in highway RPMs. Never paid attention to gas mileage before/after. Sure did make a difference up out of the hole, though.

You can spin your tires because you have a open differential which causes you to get no traction at all.

I spin my tires less with 4.10s and my heavy 17 inch rims now that i have a traction lok in.. weird huh lol

You will see a decrease in gas mileage on the interstate for sure. I lost about 50-60 miles per tank on the hwy....

Get a tranny cooler regardless. Heat is your transmissions worst enemy and Ford Trannys arent the best built.

tire diameter x .003 x rpm / FINAL gear ratio = mph

You can check for yourself all the speed/revs

www.gefracing.com has all the parts you need, i would call gefracing get part numbers and if they dont have em in stock (ask cuz they will not tell you if they dont other wise) go to summit they will price match, and get FORD OEM gears/tlok if you have an auto you will need a chip to fix the speedo, if you have a manual you only need a speedcal unit. install is 200 bucks~ get a warranty or talk to the shop about how they will take care of any issues, such as whinning or issues with gears after install.

in some cases its just as cheap to buy an 8.8

Hey, you shouldnt be worry about 4.10 You will love 4.10 Anyway I have 2002 Ford F-150 v6 4.2 an auto. It was stock 3.55 gear and I swap to 4.10 gear and trak-loc so when I drive on highway 80 mph at 2,700 rpm and 90 mph at 3,000 rpm so I still go over 100 mph like my truck still go around 120 mph over than 100 mph on gauge face. So 100 mph only at 3,200-3,300 rpm and I still have more gas pedal to go full to floor. Over 100 mph at 3800-4000 rpm!! I still got good gasmileage. They are very a little bit decrease gasmileage. But it is not big deal! YOU SHOULD LOVE 4.10 ever! TRUST ME.

Talking

i got 4.10 in my 99 mustang gt auto and i love it.. best thing i coulda done had to get the tuner also it was costly all together it was like 900 but it was worth all of it. The gas milage sucks i means it is horrible. at 70 mph about 2200 rpm and than it just gets worse from there but i would do it again in a heartbeat
