7.5 / 8.8

I know this has been brought up a million times, but i couldnt find a crystal clear answer yet. Would an 8.8, 3.73 fit on my 04 v6 stang? Or, is it only the 7.5 that will fit?

the gears from an 8.8 will not fit in your stock v6's 7.5 rear end. but you can transfer a complete 8.8 rear end into your v6 and ditch the stock complete 7.5 rear end.

On another note the axles are the same also, but some years are different in length but will still work, so if you buy an 8.8 from a pre 99 model your wheels wont stick out enough or if you have a pre 99 with a 99 up 8.8 the wheels will stick out farther.
