help, problem with install of c/c plates - Mustang Evolution

help, problem with install of c/c plates

before put the car on jack stands i think is good idea loosen the strut top nut, so i do that to the drivers site , but when i try to do that in the passabger site the strut nut is stuck, i tried with a wrench and flat head screwdriver , not work, put a little bit of wd40 i tried again , screw driver is dead ( i broke it) ... so what can i do ?

it may be easier if you jack the car up to get the weight off that bolt but you will need to put the jack under the A Arm to keep the spring compressed.

if you still cant get it then you will need an impact. If the strut shaft is spinning then you will need an impact regardless to get it off.

do you have air tools? try an impact. go get you a can of PB Blaster. much better than WD-40 for stuck parts.

with an impact is no suppose to spinning??

no. if you jack up the wheel and use an impact. it should come right off

what orientation is better for the bearing plate, positive or negative?

if you lower your car more than about 1.25 inches go with the more camber setup on the mm cc plates, aka make the short side point towards the engine so the strut shaft is closer to the engine than the fender.

Tq all your bolts to spec and then drive it and check them again after about 20 miles. But keep in mind an alignment is a must. You can go to stock specs or what ever you wish, just keep a printout so you can adjust from your last adjustment or see how much out of alignment it is from your last visit.
