Supercharging and replacing rear axle and gears for my mustang 2008

HERE IS THE SUPERCHARGER KIT Mustang X-CHARGER 4.0 SOHC HI-PO PLUS (3.0 pulley 6-7PSI) with tuner
The Hi-po Spec X-CHARGER uses a unique Cold Air Intake system with integral 84mm Mass Air housing, conical K&N airfilter and 3.5" ID rubber inlet hose PRICE $4,395.95

AND THE SUSPENSION IS 8.8" Rear axle assembly, Mustang V6 '05-'08 3.73:1 ratio with ABS and Trac-Loc (Cobra Pinion Flange) PRICE $879.99

FOR A TOTAL $5275.95

WOULD YOU SAY THIS IS A GOOD DEAL CAUSE THE AD FOR THE SUPERCHARGERS SAY YOU DONT HAVE TO UPGRADE ENGINE SINCE ITS ONLY 6-7PSI BUT IT SAYS ANYTHING ABOVE YOU REQUIRE MORE MODS

Re: Supercharging and replacing rear axle and gears for my mustang 2008

Is there a warranty on the supercharger?
If so i would say that is a good deal for the parts being they are brand new.

You got it !!! Ca kit uses a GT air box. HiPo kit uses a CAI with K&N filter and a 2.8 pulley

here's a dyno clip Mustang V6 X-Charger Dyno Run - Truveo Video Search

The California Spec X-CHARGER uses a stock Mustang GT airbox with 80mm Mass Air Supernatural Performance

Not sure about that rear !!! Don't forget about upgrading suspension, brakes, tires

I'm skeptical about the "GT killer" phrase here, This thing ends up producing 5 more wheel HP than the GT and comparable torque as well, between the weight advantage and this tiny amount of HP, is it really going to KILL a GT or just very slowly pull away from it?

an 8.8 rear end for 6-7lbs...r u serious. 3.73 swap with a good trac-lok, i can see that. but a full 8.8 swap is a bit of over kill unless you are plan'n on run'n 14lbs. or more. im run'n 11lbs. on a 308c.i. with a 7.5 and no problems. it's just my opinion. its like put'n an 8pt cage in a geo metro...sure it's great to have, but do u really need it??? with only 6-7lbs. i dont think you are anywhere near pushing the performance envelope of a 7.5 unless you are planning on turning it into a 500+hp v6. im sure someone will correct me if im wrong.

They're talking about Escort GT's. If you're really good on the stick, you might even beat the occasional Probe GT.

im not big on bash'n ppl's dreams, but i have to agree the term "gt killer" may have been used a bit too loosley, at least at the current boost level.

you are right, i suppose a stock '83 would get a mud hole stomped in it. i think it should been a 14-15lbs. kit to throw that phrase out there.

Re: Supercharging and replacing rear axle and gears for my mustang 2008

I was interested in this set up myself. There are alot of guys on mustangforums.com that have the X Charger set up. There suppose to be making about 300-305RWHP and they say its instant. So Im sure a stock 05+ mustang GT it would beat. Then again a GT with bolt on mods, prolly wouldnt. There arnt alot of great numbers with it though. There is alot of talk online about a Intercooler for it so that would be great. Just google the X Charger and youll see all kinda talk about it and like I said the guys on that site have alot of input.

If I get mine, Im getting it through Steeda cause I dont like the K&N intake. As far as a 8.8 rear. I dont think you would need it. There are a couple guys with older V6s with cams, heads, turbos pushing over 400hp with 7.5, t-lok and gears and there ok.. Unless you have that extra money I wouldnt worry about.
