O.K. Think back. Way back. How many miles did you guys have on your stang b/f you changed the pads and turned the rotors the first time? I feel I got more than my money worth. This is the first time I have changed the pads and turned the rotors. I had the factories the whole time until now. I feel that is really good.
You should give your brake pads, rotors, (entire brake system) a very detailed look, and inspection ever 15,000 miles or year.
As for when they were replaced. I never replaced myn aslong as I had them. I machined my rotors once. But that is all. I have no idea when the last time they were replaced on my car. They are not squeaking or giving me any reason that they are going. (knock on wood)
PS: you spelled brakes 'breaks' hehe i fixed it for ya, "perks of being a mod' hahah.
Mine were done about 8000 miles ago. Now when I drive really really slow next to a wall, like when I am going home, I can hear a rubbing/squeak noise.. I think it's the brakes somehow..
BTW, I need to be going slow next to a wall so the sound is reflected back towards me.. it's amazing the things you hear in a vert.
Anyway, I would imagine if I yank the wheels off I wont be able to really see anything. Do you think if I jack the car up and manually rotate the wheel that may lead me to the source?
I think it's the front, but am not sure.
basically,, brake squeak.. how to fix/troubleshoot it?

If the metal plates that attach to the back of the brakes pads are not reinstalled with the new pads you will have noise. Those metal brackets are they to reduce noise and chirping.
