Re: headlights bulbs

hid all the way over here. i too like the silverstar ultras. but for wut they cost, u can spend a few more bucks and get a hid kit. i think i spent around $55-60 a set on ebay. i have one company i deal with, very reliable products. some of the kits i have, have been in service close to 2yrs with no issues, and im one of those ppl that turns on my headlights and fog lights for daytime driving. i got less than $120 in converting my headlights and foglights to hid

Re: headlights bulbs

i like my silverstars for non hid lights, works fine. Hids do NOT belong on mustangs without retrofit projector headlights as hids need to be used in a projector housing. They are also illegal to use in a car that did not come with them from the factory~ so depending on your state you might catch crap for having them etc.

dont expect an amazing transformation with either, its an improvment but not much

r u serious? i think the whole projector thing is a matter of opinion. however i will agree that they look like crap on fox body stock headlights with "light diffusers". but if u have after market headlights with diamond cut reflectors, or anything not utilizing light diffusers, they work correctly with huge improvements in light output. i have a fox with hid projectors...and a fox with stock headlight housing (hid). btw, there are lotsa cars with hid from factory (i.e. ford 500 & lincoln mark 8) that use a hid set up with non-projector housings. i get more light out from my 35watt hid in stock headlight housing, than the 55watt hid i use in my projectors. u get best results from anything not utilizing light diffusers. so 99 and up mustangs, its very functional, very bright, controlled beam...so does not blind on-coming traffic as will happen with a "diffused light housings". the projector is definatley a cleaner/cooler look though.

I know some cars dont have projector setups and use them, but on 94+ mustangs it blinds people when not done right, even if it doesn't you lose light due to its not projected. About the only real option you have is to retro fit a set from some other car into your existing headlight assemblies. These look pretty good (when done right) but are NOT cheap.

If you compare ones people do this themselves vs the off the shelf crap thats currently available you will see the difference. If someone would make a nice headlight setup people would buy the crap out of it. Thats all I am saying, you can stick them in the stock housing and it does a pretty good job, might blind some people, and the light output isnt as high as it could be, or you can custom make you a set of headlights so it looks decent.
