k8338j... I need to know what year your car is... I need a pic of the model of the CAI you bought off of Ebay. Pics of the piece you are having problems with would help too... But I will try to help the best I can without actually seeing your problem... Attacted is a image of a CAI from Ebay... Circled in GREEN is the end that goes onto the throttle body... the wider end... The yellow one is the part that goes between the two tubes...

And... stangin99, a lot of people are using the Ebay CAI and a lot of people have problems understanding how CAI's fit together, not just the Ebay ones... But right on for your helpful input...

Engine wise or normal driving? (I hope you mean engine) but yeah CAI's wont give ya that much of an edge on a 6er, but does not hurt to have one. glad it works out for ya

You wont really notice much of a difference with a CAI either way... I notice a bit of a boost in cooler weather [hence: cold air intake]

I am glad we could be of some help, make sure you have everything tight... Dont tighten the clamps down so far that you strip them, but make sure you dont have any air leaks...

Did you even read the introduction of the CAI article?

http://v6stangs.com/index.php?page=v.../cai/index.php

Regardless of your induction style, stock, Meter forward, CAI.... the air is the same temputure in all cases (except Straightshots and K&N's but even there, you're talking fractions of a degree).

The phrase "cold air intake" does not mean that your air is any colder. You would get the same temputure benifits in all cases, regardless of your induction.
