Another one bites the dust!

I just want to start off by saying I am impressed with how my Mustang runs! It wows me more often than I think. This 525i was riding my butt for a while and finally we get to a red light where it was a straight shot. The light went green and he didnt see anything but the taillights. Ended up getting 2 cars on him before i started braking at 80. I just didnt expect to take it like that. Does anyone now what the 1/4 on the 525i and i am pretty sure it was like a 2000 model or something around there. It was not new i know that.

Re: Another one bites the dust!

It doesn't have a blue oval on it anywhere...so I'm not familiar with it. Plus, I don't do well with all those bingo playing model names that everyone seems to use these days.

Re: Another one bites the dust!

BMWs (as well as lexus and mercedes) use their displacement to determine those munbers. The first number is the series and the second two are the literage. Hence, it's a 5 series with a 2.5 liter v6. The 650 for example is a 6 series with a 5 liter v8, the 760 has a 6 liter v12 and so on... 2.5 liters in a mid size car should be smoked by just about anything.

Re: Another one bites the dust!

With those numbers, this story reminds me of the day I raced a Porsche Boxter...put a football field on him and thought I had really done something...then I went and researched the boxter to find it is slightly faster than a huffy bike.
