Question Bucking like a 'stang...

1995 V6

Over the last few weeks, I've noticed a slight hesitation while revving in park and a "bucking" while driving in the 40mph range. The bucking is like the opposite of surging, sort of like the engine temporarily misses while under load. In the last week, the check engine light went on and I noted the P1407 code, but the text was vague as follows: "Manufacture Contrl Auxiliary Emission Controls." Can someone tell me what this code is telling me and whether its related to the hesitation/bucking problem? What would your next step be?

Re: Bucking like a 'stang...

The code means there is an EGR no flow. Check all the vacuum lines to the EGR valve and see if there are any cracks or opens. If they're ok, it's time to check the EGR itself. It sounds like it could be bad.
