mustang running 14s

Hi Im Mike from Chicago Il. I have a 2001 Mustang and run between 13.90 and 13.70. My choice of mods are as followes. My car is my work car and a daily driver. My car has auto trans. I hope this info helps you get your car into the 14s. 11lb ati procharger, 42 lb injectors, high volume fuel pump, 2600 stall, pro-m mass air flow, 373 posi rear end, mac long tube headders (use mil eliminators) NO CATS , H pipe ,mandrel bent exhaust( 7.5 rear end and its holding up fine), and the most important item A NEW CHIP BURNT JUST FOR MT MODS BY FORDCHIP.COM. ( no im not trying to sell you somthing.) I ran 13.90 on street tires at Byron Drag Way 2 weeks ago with a 3;43 gear and now with a 3;73 i run into 13.7s. on street tires. Using a power to weight ratio formula my car should run a 13.55 once i get my driving and pwershifting down. (I hit the rev limiter at times and the car boggs for a sec)
yes pwer shift your auto trans and you will make more boost than if you just let your car shift. computer shifts at 5500 rpm i push it to 6200 before it hits the limiter. with the 3;43 gear (your stock gear is 3;27) my 13.90 run is as followes. r/t .167,6o ft 2.051, 330 5.874, 1/8 mi 8.935 ,@83.31 mph ,1000 ft 11.617 1/4 mile 13.906 @ 98.21 mph My 13.7 slip is in my car and my car is not here right now. I hope you can use this info to spank some v-8s. If your car is pre 99 the performance will be less due to the changes done to the 3.8 in 99 and up. GOOD LUCK. If you have any questions e-mail me at mike639@comcast.net

you should run 12s with that setup.

My friend ran 13.6 with a stock auto and a procharger. You have a stall and lower gears and run slower then him.

depending on where you live and how far above sea level you are cars will run different. Your friend car sounds very vast but my car is tuned Fat (rich because i drive my car as a work car and dont want to run my air fuel mixture to the point of wearing down my engine prematurly. Is he on slicks or street tires and where does he live? You can smell that my car is running rich when you stand next to it.Still He has done it right. i would love to race him here in Chicago.

his is a daily driver as well. He ran that on drag radials (not slicks) and our track in NY sucks. Elevation is like 900+ feet, always humid.

What was your trap?

i dont want to steal this thread ..... this is my best run from sunday oct 31 as traction was still poor on that run. off the line i couldnt dead hook and 2nd gear gives me about a 8 ft patch from both tires. Drag radials will be on the list for 2005 season.
60 ft 2.096
330 ft-5.854
1/8 8.883 80.20 mph
1000 ft- 11.552
14 mi 13.799 @ 100.59 mph
1/2 tank of 93 octane
