Question Getting a V6 to run at least 14.2's

I have no idea how to modd a V6 to run into the 14's at least without sticking nitrous on it. I had a V8 and that was easy to mod, but V6 is a different story for me, where do I start!

I would recommend exhaust first, then move to directly to heads cam and intakes and 3.73 gears if you have a manual and 4.10 gears if you have a automatic

a 9.8 is low 15s...I ran a 9.578 1/8 and ran 14.9....

And my car has a 14.5 in it...I ran 14.9 with a 2.2 60'. Get that down to 1.9-2.0 and I run 14.5

Gimme a 5spd and I run low 14s/high 13s.

Well I would have had lower times but I was having a problem with wheel spin. I need some Drag Radial

The other thing is power band The cam I have seems to also like higher RPMs. The fact is if you continue to build Hp as you head down the 1/4 times can be different

My cam pulls hard from 4-6k.

what were you're 60's like? With an N/A car you won't pull that that much harder in hihger rpm's to affect your times a lot. Thats more of a turbo/nitrous thing.

a 9.8 1/8 is like a 15.2

edit: also, what's your trap in the 1/8?

9.894 1/8 73.817 mph 2.219 60's reaction time .223

Like I said I was having severe wheel spin at launch. really poor track conditions were also a problem

Yes I agree. And when I get my RPM BV heads on I will be making another 20+ HP. My launches need to improve, Drag Radials and some more pratice will also improve my times. hell the stock 99+ were running 11's. Only once did I see one break into the high 10's

no, you have to buy a posi unit. you can make a locking differential by welding the spider gears but that is a track only setup as you will wear your tires a lot and squeel them during turns.

yes, you can do 4.10s with the 7.5 rear.

Stang gurl, if you want to "mock" my setup, you'll be able to get into the low 14's Like Corey said, the track conditions were pretty crappy at the last meet, so we weren't able to really hook on the launch. But I know I can into the 14's atleast with my setup if not upper 13's.

I still don't see how you guys think you'd run low 14s...

running 7.6 and trapping at 73 in the 1/8 is like a 15.0-15.2 1/4... your not turbo/nitrous so your car isnt going to pull THAT much harder past the 1/8.

my car wont cut less than a 2.2 60' as is. Thats with it dead hooking with my DR's. The engine just doesnt have enough lowend with the ****ty automatic gearing and 3.73s.

4.10s are next to get me to 2.0 or less.

with 4.10s and converter, i was cutting 1.9 60's all day long. even on street tires. I also had slicks for when i would spray off the line.

bottom line stanggurl - the cheapest way would be nitrous, 4.10s and t-lock, dual exhaust and cold air intake

that's what I cant wait for. The car just wont cut less than a 2.2

A 2.0 or 1.9 puts me mid-low 14s as the car sits. And I plan on new heads/cam/intakes for spring too so who knows.

Actually a 9.6 is high 14's. It's like a 14.7-14.9. Anyways, that was on a slick and dirty track and also I wasn't in my groove shifting and all. Shifting plays a big part in your track times. I'm suppose to go to Darlington this weekend, so I'll post my 1/4 times if I go.

ok im new to drag racing, but why is you MPH much higher then the person you ran aginst and he still ran a sec faster then you? doesnt that mean that your car should have alot left in it? could you be able to run a 13ish time?
