Will I have to replace the window motor?

It had been stalling halfway up and acting like it was off track or something, but now it won't go up at all.
I'm pretty sure the switches are working because the window will come up about an inch over the door...then it just quits and won't go any farther. I tried to pull it up manually while holding the switch down but no luck there either. my car is sitting in my yard with plastic over the window right now.
Is there any other fix, cuz i'm pretty sure I have to buy a new motor.
What do you all think?

sounds like the gear on the window motor is stripped, its not too bad to replace it. its a common problem in our cars. as a matter of fact i have to change one in another car lol.

A trick I had to use on my 02 was to tap the motor to get it to go up sometimes....

You accomplish this by pulling door panel off.

To pull the door panel off you do these steps:

1. the cup where you pull the door closed, pull up lightly on the whole piece and it will pop out, might take a little force however. Take a phillips head screwdriver and unbolt the window switches and unhook the power mirror control connections if equipped

2. there is a plastic push pin on the front of the door panel, open the door wide and look directly beside the speaker. the trick to getting these out is use a flat head screwdriver to lightly pull out, then use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull it out the rest of the way.

3. pull up on the entire door panel, it should unhook. you will have to work the handle through the panel and push the wires back through the holes from the hand hold.

4. if you'll pull that plastic backing from beside the speaker on the front you can see the window motor inside the door itself, tap on this lightly with a screwdriver or something and push the up button at the same time

See if this will fix your problem, if not you already have the door apart to replace any parts that may be broken.

Yeah the window motors are to much of a hassle to replace, i've done a few, the worst was my friend BMW 325 that was a pain in the ass because it was all riveted into the support frame of the door.

should be about an hour job as long as there aren't any huge complications

I will probably end up replacing my window motor and regulator when it gets warmer out... I'll be sure to do a how-to on it. It looks relatively straight forward.
