Changing my T-stat... lil help

Im gonna put a 180* T-stat in my car (or 160* if thatd be better) to see if it helps my cooling situation at all. I know where the things at, but I need to know where I flush the radiator fluid from. Anyone that can help me out on where the drain plug is for the radiator, and give me any helpful tips about changing the T-stat... Id appreciate it.

its a white looking bolt on the side of the radiator on the passenger side of the engine bay side. Its at the bottom of the raidator, just pull it and the coolant will come out. Remove the radiator cap to help it drain and when its done also remove your overflow bottle and clean that sucker... there is some NASTY stuff in there that needs to be removed, hot water and a little shaking will remove it.

i run a 160* t-stat, but i plan on driving a supercharged car in 100+ * weather, a 180* t-stat should be good enough for you.

its not a big deal to put in a new one if you get heads/cam/intakes/blower/etc so just sticka 180 in it for now.

ah, i thought you ment you were getting different ones, your not flowing so much that you should really worry with a 160 t-stat the 180 will be perfect for you. My friends 5.0 has AFR 165's with a custom ground cam (not sure on specs) and Edle performer upper/lower so he has more flow, and he still doesnt need any lower than a 180. If you was to put a blower on it you might... you would probably still run with a nearly perfect temp.

If you are having cooling problems, the radiator could need to be professionally boiled out and checked for leaks, the thermostat that is in there could be sticking, or, with the added hp you are running its possible you may need a larger aftermarket maybe, radiator to cool it more. 180* thermostat is ok, 160 CAN cause problems with you computer as already stated, it can also cause other problems which might be associated with the engine running well below manufacturers specs. for temp.
