bad coolant leak

i have an 89 5.0 and it seemed to bleeding coolant and all signs pointed to the radiator so i just finished replacing the radiator and feed/return hoses and when i turn it on i notice coolant running out of the side of the block like a faucet as if a hose or bolt popped out...it is leaking driver side under the headers, freeze plug is still in place caked with dirt so it wasn't that...any ideas as to what might have come off/unplugged?

Re: bad coolant leak

did you remove/ replace/ mess with the water pump? Check around it for a leak source.

Re: bad coolant leak

there may be a plug in the block that you can unscrew over there~ no idea why it would have just now started doing it though.

Re: bad coolant leak

have you had any cold spells in your area. you couldve had some water freeze and it then blow one of your gaskets. if its a tube connecting to the block, use some die and find the exact spot of where the leak is.

There is. It has an allen head on it and is meant to drain the block before you pull the motor. There is one on each side. The driver side one is not too far from where the oil pressure sending unit threads into the block.
