AOD Questions

Ok I have a little problem I need to know what stall converter to be used with the following combo in a 1990 Notch. 306 block, Ecam, ported cobra heads, Ported Cobra Intake, 3.73 gears. ANd anyone thats has installed the Wide gear ratio kit from ford racing is it worth it or not?

what are you wanting to do with the car, track, daily driver, etc etc?

mostly daily driver but occasional drag.

ive heard when people pick tq converters for their v6s they have to get a bit higher stall to get the same effects. Come on someone chime in that knows about tq converters!

torque converters and gears do very different things

do you have anything done to the driveline? Rear gears? Torque converter?

The wide ratio gears probably wont help you too much, but sticking a 3.73 rear gear in the car, and maybe something like a 2600-2800 stall torque converter in the car will wake it up considerably. Just be sure to run a GOOD transmission cooler, and a GOOD shift kit, such as a Trans-Go.

sorry for the delay in post but this is what the car has stock converter AOD trans with B&M shift kit 3.73 gears the motor is in the shop being worked on trying to get it up to around 300 hp and 300 torque without a power adder.
