Re: 351 mod question

any manual with a small block bell housing pattern, T5 would even work, but you would prally break it in a day or so lol. dont forget your gonna want a new hood, motor mounts, oilpan and headers for it to fit in that notch.

Re: 351 mod question

A 351W has a diffferent balance then a 5.0 the 5.0 H.O. has a 50oz harmonic balance and flywheel you will need a flywheel; remember most trucks had 164 thooth and the cars had a 157 tooth. So you will need to buy a 28.8 oz harmonic balance and a 28.8 oz 157 tooth flywheel.

Re: 351 mod question

If its a 351M, like out of a truck or big car, its a big block bellhousing pattern. Which is why its an M.

Re: 351 mod question

If it is a 351M, I hear they also make really good boat anchors...

But yeah... it is a destroked version of the 400, which used a big block bellhousing pattern, mainly for compatibility with the C6 transmissions. Check out this link for a lot of info on the 351M/400.

Re: 351 mod question

I'm still running a t5

granted it grinds third all the time and intermittently locks itself out of second

but hey it still works.
