I have a couple 5.0 swap questions

Hey I have a couple questions about swapping a 5.0 into my car. I have a 96 automatic ( <- i know, a bad decision) V6 mustang. I have a friend who is selling a 5.0 otor from a 91 Mustang. I was wondering if this swap would work since the 5.0 motor didnt come as an option on my year. Also would it bolt up with my trans. now or would i need to swap the trans too? Approximatly how long would you guys guess it would take? Thanks for your help.

you will need a new K member, I dont think your tranny will work, and you will need a wiring harness, computer, etc etc etc etc etc etc its pretty expensive.

Unless you carb it.... You will also need a new rear end to handle the power of your new found motor...

You could most likely buy a V8 car cheaper than to convert it.

Re: I have a couple 5.0 swap questions

Its possible, and even fairly easy (but then again I've been working on cars for a living for 5+ years now.. and have been modding cars as long as I could drive.. (about 6 years lol) and I've done this before.. IMO unless you've got a lot planned for that 5.0 before you swap it in.. its not worth it, and its definitely a better idea/deal to find a v8 car to begin with

Thanks for the responses everyone. I guess this probably isnt gonna happen then. Someone had told me it would be a straight motor for motor swap. I guess they were wrong. Thanks for the help.
