1987 GT altenator will not charge??? PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi everyone, I just bought my dream car!!! 1987 Ford Mustang GT with only 80k on it. The car is amazing has a ton of work which I will get into but for right now I need to fix this problem..The battery died, I put a new batt in her, then I found out that its running only on the batt, I put a new altenator in it and its just not holding a charge and now my new batt is on its way out after 50miles.. I dont know what to do..PLease help...

Battery should be warranty. Have someone check the volts with a meter when under a load or not. Also check all wiring to/from alternator for frays, damage, or disconnection.

if the alternator is spinning and its new and the battery is good.. then it can only be the linkage from the alternator to the battery unless the alternator is messed up or the battery is~ but a auto store can test them and ensure they are right. Make sure the belt is right and tight as well.

The new alternator should have come with a new plug for it. If it didn't you need to go & buy one & replace it. They go bad on these cars.

Voltage is supplied to the alt with one of the small wires when you turn the key on of the alt doesn't get the voltage to tell it to turn on it won't charge.
