Question Axle Shafts?

I'm doing a five lug conversion...The only question I have so far is, how do the rear axles come out of the rear end?

Re: Axle Shafts?

if you remove your rear wheels and then remvoe the rear calipers you only have to pop the rear end cover off, find the pin that goes though the differenctial (silver dollar circle, look at one end for a bolt holding it in remove the bolt and tap out the pin) then pull out the C clips by pushing the axles in a bit and yanking em out (you can see them on the end of the axles) then the axles slide out. Slide them out slowly so you dont mess up the seals.

Re: Axle Shafts?

I appreciate it...So i'm looking at a little bit of work here? It'll be worth it in the end...Better stopping power and a wider selection of wheels. My conversion is off of a 94 Mustang. I'v done my homework, and know I can do the conversion right in my carport. There is a great how to article in the June 06- 5.0 and fast fords magazine. And for anyone who wants to look into it...
