Re: High Mileage Motor

Put a 150 shot on it and see if you can get another 180k miles out of it. I think you can as long as you keep it tuned and well-maintained.

Re: High Mileage Motor

if your gonna get a crate motor. just get a new shortblock from dss or something. then put whatever ombo you want on top of that don't waste your money on one of those supposed 340 hp ford racing crate ones. for one they are not even 300 to the motor i don't think and secondly they still got those crappy hyper pistons. If you get a crate moptor make sure its got forged pistons and a very solid bottom end.

that would definately not be the most cost efficient way to go about getting a motor(buy the motor, the tranny, the wiring harness not to much mention all the tuning issues it would have). Hell as much as that would cost just buy a bulletproof bottomend and turbo the thing and let any of those 03/04 that wanna mess with you step on up

Word. The 03/04 motors are awesome, but really aren't a very cost effective way of making power in a fox. I think people do it for novelty more than anything else.

I think a 03/04 in a Fox would be fine. I think novelty I think of a 2.3 non turbo motor in a fox. I mean what a POS.
I personally think the only way they could have done worse is to stick a briggs & Stratton in a fox!!!
