speedometer issue..

I know its accurate up to ~45 or so.. Ive compared it a few times to those 'speed check' radar signs that cops set up around here and there (shows your speed..) and its within 2-3 MPH each time
3.73 gears, 23 spline speedo gear..

however on the highway it never seems right.. and on the .. ... track when I floor it (I have time slips up to 112 MPH.. ) it rarely creeps up past 80.. and on the highway I can go up 2-300 RPMs on the tach, and the speedo stays right around 70..

anyone have any ideas? hanging cable? (I doubt it, makes no noise + it shows lower speeds..) could I have a weak cluster?

Re: speedometer issue..

your speedo gear might be getting stripped and doest turn right at the higher speeds... :dunno:

23 tooth i believe is for 3.55's anyway... unfortunately anything higher than those youll need a speedcal and i dont know if those work on foxes

Re: speedometer issue..

yeah.. its way off.. on the highway at 2800 RPMs speedo should read 85 it reads barely over 70..

and likewise.. on a short accel burst it should read over 60 @ 6k RPMs in second gear its barely breaking 50..

would be nice to have a working speedo.. otherwise I'm just gonna have to work by the tach #s

Re: speedometer issue..

just change the input speedo gear to a 7 or a 6 tooth, thats what I did and mine is decently accurate
