Re: Fuel pressure guage questions

There are electric ones that have a sender unit... I dont know where they hook up but they are out there. Also, maybe consider putting the guage on your cowl right outside your window if you do end up going mechanical.

Are you planning on running nitrous or do you just want to know your fuel pressure? To keep it cheap you should just put it on a Fuel pressure regulator right on your fuel rail, that will save you some money and youll still know what your fuel pressure's at.

Cool Re: Fuel pressure guage questions

well I really would like to know if its holding up during a WOT run I would hate for it to drop off and not know it. It would be a good indication of what kind of shape the fuel pump is in and I really don't understand why Ford didn't include this in the standard guages of the GT. I mean I feel that it is an important piece of information for any driver of a performance car. I mean you can sit in the garage and look at a fuel pressure and think its good but when the engine is at WOT and tached up it would be nice to be able to see its not starving for fuel. know what I mean?

Re: Fuel pressure guage questions

Unless you're getting stuttering or something you're more than likely not going to be running lean. If youre realy worried maybe go to your local dyno and have them hook up the air/fuel sensor so you can see exactly what its during all through the powerband.

Re: Fuel pressure guage questions

Mechanical is the best and most accurate. If installed correctly with a fuel pressure Isolator fuel will never enter passed the firewall. These isolators are designed for mounting of any mechanical pressure gauge inside your ride. They're rated at 200 psi working pressure with a maximum of 300 psi peak, and are compatible with gasoline, oil, and antifreeze. How it works. Fuel travels from your fuel rail to your isolator via a braided hose then the isolator transfers the pressure to your interior mounted guage via a nylon hose filled with antifreeze/water etc.. thus leaving the danger outside your driving compartment. The Isolator alone are going for $99. Its well worth it when you consider the added danger of rigging it.
