I just made some performance upgrades. I changed injector size, heads, intake, cam. Would the FordMotorsports setup work with this? I believe they come calibrated to the 24 lbs. injectors. that is what i use.

I just the stock ECU and a Pro-M MAF. It works great for me. The only problems I ever have is idling on cold mornings. Until the engine gets warmed up it has a pretty bad rolling idle. Once it's warm though, it runs perfect.

Re: What kind of computer/mass air set up are you guys using?

What year is your car? 94-95, I would suggest swapping to a fox body PCM (
A9L calibration for example) or getting it tuned.. tune is a must for 94-95s..

for the fox bodies..
I am using pro-M / diablosport chipped ECU --

Stock PCM, pro-M and 24# injectors.. put out 292 HP on a loaded dyno.. on a 15.1 or so A/F ratio (LEAN)

tuned in (diablosport chip + custom dyno tune) its locked in about 13.0:1 A/F and is up to 310 HP..(chart in sig..)

According to the tuner the majority of why I was running lean was due to the aftermarket mass air meter -- bbunt, I'd bet with a tune your car would haul ***, and I had the same cold start idle issue pre-tune

-> as for your question, the FMS mass air will work, but EEC IV is rather .. outdated.. to be sure/for best performance.. have someone tune it/ or at least find someone with a wideband o2 system, and use a mini AFC to dial in the correct A/F ratio..

My car is an 89. I am going to maybe try a 93 cobra computer. I think they came with 24 lbs. injectors stock. I might try that and try the mass air sensor for the same computer. I will need to order the 24 lbs. sample tube. Do you think this will work.

That could work..

but regardless of what you go with.. a tune would be your best bet on making sure it all works together

Re: What kind of computer/mass air set up are you guys using?

I live in the south western area of PA near Altoona. I am wondering about finding someone in this area that could do a decent tune job. I don't know of anyone offhand.
