Re: how to hide under hood wiring

On alot of my aftermarket wiring I either ran it with the factory wiring and rewrapped it or I ran it in a manner that looked best and used a nice wire loom to cover it. It's a little time consuming but I think it's worth it in the end.

to move it out of the engine bay you may have to put a good bit of effort to it and extend some wires~

Re: how to hide under hood wiring

I've seen an article before as well. I'm actually starting this process myself. I'm just trying to figure out which holes I need to actually not weld up. There aren't going to be many left...

Re: how to hide under hood wiring

I'm with these guys. I seen an article on the internet about it. To begin with, take the big main harness that runs along the firewall and push it under the pinch weld. That will make a big step in cleaning up the firewall area. (The pinch weld is the big lip where two parts of the firewall come together. They are literally "pinched" together.

From that point on it's take off the front wheels, remove plastic fender linings, and look for places to poke wires outside of the engine compartment. Be careful if you extend wires...which you will have to. Not all of them like to be patched and you should use some of the more sophisticated heat joints.

It's time consuming but worth it. Especially if you weld up the zillion holes, smooth and repaint under the hood.

Re: how to hide under hood wiring

Well your comp comes out your pass side. Theres not much you can do about hiding your injector and break wires. the only thing I can tell you about those is split loom them and strap them to the lip under the break lines.

As far as rest of your wires you can put them through the whole on your strut tower on pass side. you have enough wire you dont need to cut or anything. You will have enough wire to reach your MAF.

On your drvers side you will have to make a whole on your strut tower between your strut tower and firewall just like the one on your pass side. you will be able to run your lights and even your hood release through that whole. The only problem is getting the wires above the fender cover so you dont se any wires in the fender. Your silinoid will have to mounted on the strut tower between you firewall and strut tower. Dont worry you will have enough clearence for you hood to close.

I did this to my car it looks and works great.
