Is it worth getting a different K-member?

I know it could drop 20-30lbs, I'm thinking possibly about getting one since the engine is out might make it easier to install one, any good brands or suggestions, is it worth re-using the factory A-arms?

Re: Is it worth getting a different K-member?

I'm putting a Maximum Motorsports K-member in the '89, but I'm sure it's for different reasons than you are considering. The MM K-member isn't as light as some of the others out there, so it's not really popular for drag racing.

As far as some of the other brands, I've heard of people having lots of issues with fitment. I haven't read up much on the other brands, but you'll probably want to do some good research before buying one.

Re: Is it worth getting a different K-member?

Why is it a pile of ****? My boss has one on his Turbo'd 99 and he likes it. Wider track for the front, less weight, and tons more room down there than stock.

Re: Is it worth getting a different K-member?

Question:
Have a friend who's taking a MotorSports class at the local community college. One of the classes is on chassis building, taught by a retired NASCAR chassis builder. My pal wants to build his own K-Member and assorted pieces for his Fox.

Anyone know of any plans out on the net for doing such a thing?
Jim

When did he say you don't know what you're talking about. All he did was ask why you thought it was a pile of ****.

Just the way you came across, when you said:
"but what do i know i dont know anything about cars"
Just kinda came across like you were saying he was accusing you of that. Just trying to stop an argument before it starts is all.

Didn't mean it like that at all im probably the biggest smartass anyone could ever meet. If he interprets it that way he will see where i said this and should understand that is not what i meant.

the mm comes with the a-arm mounts boxed in so it is a little heavier but whats 2 pounds when it will last twice as long and be safer.
