Sluggin

Ok i was puttin out in some traffic from my neighbor hood road. I pulled out and got straight on the high way and nailed it from about 15 i spun sideways a little bit and caught.I noticed in the higher rpms i can feel my car sluggin a little bit. Almost like tiny jerks you can barly feel. It act like it has a fuel problem. Lack of fuel at higher rpms maybe. Its from about 4k - redline. Anyone have any suggestions on what it might be.

Those are the best I can think of off the top of my head.

Re: Sluggin

fuel filter is towards the back near the gas tank, if you have a choltons book it'll tell you exactly where it is (good investment for our cars btw should consider buying one)

Re: Sluggin

on your year you can do the fuel filter pretty easy, some require a little tool to take the lines off. Just be prepared to catch some fuel with your mouth and all will be good.

Re: Sluggin

just run injection cleaner on half a tank of gas, and get the good stuff (its expensive... like 8 bucks a bottle but its good)

you can get your injectors out pretty easy and clean them~ or replace them for cheap as well im sure.

If you have 24's, it would just give you larger than stock injectors and require tuning to make things run right.

If you find everything in working order and for some reason your stock injectors aren't able to provide enough fuel up top anymore, then they would give you the room you need now, and possibly in the future if/when you go SC/Nitrous...assuming stockers are 24#....and would require tuning to make sure stuff doesn't blow up.

If stockers are 42#...then the 39s would do nothing for you. lol

19's are factory. The only cars to get 24's are the 93-99 and 01 Cobra. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I wouldn't have a clue honestly...I was just pulling numbers out of the air as to what they might be.

So, if they are 19s, then you would get really big injectors...bragging rights for having such big injectors...all the girls would swarm to you because your injectors are so huge...and most importantly, they would leave my place of residence.

However, they would be usefull if there was some power added going on the car soon.

Putting 39# injectors on a stock 5.0L is not going to be pretty. Good luck getting it to idle.

Re: Sluggin

the 5.0's have problems with TFI's, Pickup's, DPS's and such and so.

if you have over 100K on the clock then consider replaceing the fuel filter as suggested along with a rebuilt factory distributer, new plugs and wires if you need them... and all shall be well.

use autolites, 5.0's don't like fancy plugs, the autolites are the best

cleaning the mass air sensor isn't a bad idea
setting the TPS voltage isn't a bad one either
hope you have a timing light set.

Cleaning the mass air with anything other than no residue electrical contact cleaner... could definitely be your problem...

Wires
Filter
What cleaner do you suggest for the mass air.
Also Silver suggest i change some things if im over 100k.. Im over 200k anything else yall suggest id do. Its gonna take time due to a ticket and some other debts that i have to deal with right now but i can order something thats not expensive every 2 weeks.

Electrical contact/no residue cleaner... can be found at parts stores -> Don't use brake clean, its much rougher on sensitive electronic components..

nah, i'd do the things suggested here, and then go from there

changing out the distributer will probably make a nice difference if its showing 200K
