85 GT

I have an 85 GT that used to have an alarm system. I've taken out all of the system that i can find. I have a 12.5 volt 3.5-4.5 amp draw all the time. It is pulsing making me think a solenoid or relay is trying to activate. I really don't want to tear the whole car apart. Any suggestions would be great. Maybe there are still alarm related realys somewhere.

Re: 85 GT

only suggestion I can give if there is any relays left in the car from the alarm I would check behind both kick panels. and I would also pull th eglovebox and check behind there, if any relay is used this is where the commen areas they would be placed

Re: 85 GT

you might have a relay thats stuck, my fuel pump relay would randomly kit on when the car wasn't running... caused me to have many dead battery non-starts before I found and replaced it.

just throwing out another idea

Re: 85 GT

If you removed the alarm brain and power wires the alarm should not be doing anything because with the brain removed it not sending signals. and if it was the alarm it would show a draw at the battery when the engine was shut down
