obd 1....the official start is in 97. but ford went ahead and put obd2 in the tbirds a couple years early

racing aod, 2700 stall, 3.42 gears, ported e7, 308ci, 1.7rr, comp .560valve springs, gear drive, high dwell module, msd 6a & coil, bbk off road xpipe, mac cat back, 30lbs inj, pro-m 90mm, welded subframe connectors, boxed upper & lower trailing arms, spherical axle bushings, 255/50/16 tires, 255lph pump, 456hp

they are harder to tune but there are some great tuners out there that can do it

i think obd1 systems are good for the novice. playn wit injectors and fuel pressure taught me alot. call me old school, but i prefer obd1. everyone has a preference.

Actually OBD II started in '96. Ford did have a few OBDII before then though

That idk but i do know it was federally mandated by the gov to have ODBII in 96 and newer!

im still pretty sure it was 97...but maybe it was 96.. we r debating 12months, so we r all pretty knowledgable in this thread

The 94-95 gt had obd 1 but the v6 had obd2 in 94-newer on the mustangs and yes it was mandate in 96 to have obd 2.

If you have a 94 cobra or v8 then you need a chip, sct has about the best chip you can buy, you're able to switch between like 4 different tunes. If you have a 94 v6 then you can buy a hand held tuner from sct and flash the tune onto your ecm. I myself like sct but diablo sport also has a good hand held and I don't know if they make chips or not.

I have a 94 cobra , with the Edelbrock upper power package , stock 302 lower end
