Picking up some free mustang parts

I know someone that has some 302 motors, a roll cage, head lights, headlight covers, a cowl hood, some cobra r rims, and some shifter knobs and other mustang foxbody parts. They're in his barn and he wants the parts gone, so me and my dad are going to go get them one day this month. That's good though. I hate to take free parts and put them on my car and know that I didn't pay for them, and that someone else helped me build my car. I like to do things on my own and not take the easy free route. Well, if it wasn't for my dad, I wouldn't have my car. It's my money, but he gave the money to me. And I hate thinking about that but we all have to get started in the real world with help, we can't do it on our own. But, I'll give more details on what I get and I'll put up some pics also.

Re: Picking up some free mustang parts

wow
i wish i knew someone that had all of that
well if you don't like taking it for free you could give him a little bit of money
i know what you mean, i don't like taking anything like that for free either but mustang parts are so overly priced that when a deal like that comes along you gotta take it
or somebody else will
can't wait for the pics

Re: Picking up some free mustang parts

You have to look at it from his point of view too though. #1. He wants the parts gone. Its free to give them to you, or it costs him money to take them to a scrap yard or dump. #2. He probably feels good knowing that his parts are going to somebody who can use and appreciate them rather than collecting dust in his barn. I understand where you're coming from too though. If I were you, I'd take them and enjoy them. Mustang parts are mustang parts, no matter how it boils down.

Well yea. I know. It does matter though. But, were still gonna get them even if I don't use them all. I deffinetly won't be using a roll cage.

Re: Picking up some free mustang parts

when your 10k+ deep into your stang...taking free parts wont feel so bad...lol. ive given stuff away to ppl cause i was glad to b able to b a blessing to someone that was a fellow mustang enthusiast. some of the parts i paid a few hundred dollars for like intakes and wut not. but once you outgrow parts for wutever the reason, wut good are they gonna do you sittn on a shelf.

along time ago ppl donated their time to me, their labor, their tools, and yes a few good parts like selln me a 6a box for 15 buks (still have it 16yrs later "and works"). i wouldnt be anywhere in this hobby had it not been for a variety of hand outs. all you can do is pass it (the kindness) along to someone else one day.

and when the time comes, you will remember all the free parts and labor ppl gave you along the way, and you'll be happy to pass it to someone else.

that's how this hobby works.....

Re: Picking up some free mustang parts

Well, if you get some parts that you dont need, just return the favor of free to someone that can use them. That way you don't have things you wont use and another can get some enjoyment out of them!

Exactly! Try not to feel bad! They are just taking up space and you can put them to good use.
